*waves hi* this was created to have a cross-section of Saiyuki shonen-ai friendly fans and communities all on one friendslist. Feel free to browse or friend each other or say hi or introduce yourself or ignore this...

Please don't be afraid to leave a comment if:
If you would like to be added.
If you would like to be de-friended.
If you would like to point someone out to be friended.

Aside from myself, is there REALLY any such thing in the LJ fandom as "anti-shounen-ai/yaoi"? And I'm not even sure you can count me in as part of that, since I DO enjoy it on occasion—I just don't like the fact that I seem to be the only person who likes Saiyuki for the art/story/characters versus their slashability. There isn't one character I can think of that I don't love or hate because of who they are, not who they could fuck I lied, there's that one youkai at the beginning of Requiem—the general-dude. He's only good for the sex. Sorry, my morals are shattered.

I was going to suggest that this would probably serve its purpose better as a community, as then you could have people who would like to join it join it... but then I realized that I (as maintainer of [info]saiyuki_ikkou and Muichimotsu) would probably need to join, and then somehow I get the feeling that people might see it listed among my communities and think I'm much more into the fandom than I am. That, and you wouldn't get the numbers you could get on your own because other people would have to do the work. Not to mention everyone who posted would just crosspost practically everything they say in [info]saiyuki (which isn't a general communtiy, as much as I used to like to think so) and you really don't need two Saiyuki yaoi communities (nevermind seventeen or however many the slash world has made in the past two years)

I'm not going to ask you to defriend me; you're not doing me any harm. I'm not likely to friend it back, for previously stated "I think there's more to Saiyuki than the couples with dumb names and mpreg children" sentiments, and I'm not sure you'd want me on your list because really, "fan" these days is going closer and closer back to its roots as a shortening for "fanatic" and I'm NOT. I don't think Sanzo and Goku are OMGMEANT2B!, nor do I think Hakkai and Goku/Gojyo/Sanzo/Kanzeon Bosa—actually, Kanzeon BosatsuxHakkai is one I haven't seen, and that's kinda slashy =3 Someone should do that. AHEM—tsu or any of those mainstream pairings that everyone in every community I'm apart of (aside from [info]saiyuki_ikkou because it is a GENERAL community and I did say in the userinfo that you're more likely to get the responses you want in [info]saiyuki and so apparently this makes us anti-yaoi ^^;;) is like "omgsocanon!"...

I am a fan of some couples that come "close to canon" (Chin IsouxGonou/Hakkai—got a whole big essay on how that's implied, tho' I imagine you could write a whole big essay as to why it's not, just as you can with the ikkou-pairings), and some pairings that ARE canon (Gonou/HakkaixKanan. Yes, I know, not slash).

Ooh. Unless you're counting femmeslash/yuri/shoujo-ai in this count. That'd be neat. Haven't seen that done ANYWHERE. Kanan+Yaone/Yaone+Kanan is like, the ultimate in speculative relationships that could work in the Saiyuki fandom. I mean seriously, you get absolutely no shoujo-loving in the fandom because there's so little in the series. Maybe that's why all the crazy 13-year-olds like pouncing all over it. Hm.

Point: I'm not a big yaoi fan, so you might not want me on this list. The rest is just thoughts.

Well, this was not created to replace [info]saiyuki as a discussion group. It's just that there's neat people in fandom and this puts everybody on one list. Personally, I love well-written friendship fics and they're something about the dynamic of the sanzo-ikkou that facinates me because they're such a *family*. But yeah, this list is like neat people in fandom who like yaoi. If you want, I'll take you off it, you can contact me at kanzeyori@yahoo.com
